The Trans West Virginia Trail (TWVT) is a Dualsport route crossing the state and continuing through Kentucky and into Jellico Tenn, ending at the start of the TAT.
There was two of us riding from Camp Creek WV, Adam, a englishman on a RTW trip and myself. Adam had shipped his F650 back home and bought a DR650se and spent the winter building it for the remainder of his trip. This would be a great ride to shake it down on. I was on my trusty DR400.

Adams windscreen, notice "Jersey" .

It took us 2 days and 368 miles of a wide variety of riding to reach Jellico.
The 1st night we camped in a church picnic shelter that was volunteered by a member there. The 2nd night we stayed at the Days inn in Jellico, we even got the "Dualsport motorcycle" discount!
On the 3rd day Adam peeled away to North Carolina and I started riding back to WV via the TWVT and a couple of detours into Virginia.

It took me 2 days and 372 miles of riding to get back to Camp Creek.
This was a great ride with very little problems and the weather was near perfect. There was plenty of deer, turkey and grouse throughout the trip along with dozens of dogs chasing us and sleeping in the road.

Check my photobucket link for the rest of the pics.

Excellent write up!  I'm adding TWVT to my dual sport hit list after reading your report.

Did you follow Chip's TWVT route?

Thanks! Yep, Chips route runs right down a road in WV where I've got a base camp setup. When you run the TWVT this year, lol, your welcome to camp there.
Thanks again.

I rode another section of the TWVT this week, 2 days and 280 miles.
Here's a couple of teasers 'till I can get the report/pics posted.

How do we get more info on this route? Maps, info, website. Is there a route sheet that we can buy? Thanks for any info. Capt D.

Thanks again for that link Mike. Have to watch the SE section of ADV more closely as I should be living and riding up there this or next year. Capt D.
