Note To Self...

I just realized I spent more total hours putting together the "Gobbler Video" and doing all the editing...

Than the total hours spent actually riding the Gobbler, including lunch and all the B.S. sessions as well.....

What is wrong with that picture......Dammit Man!

I promnised a lst round of those AJS pictures so here goes......

We're minding our own business buzzing down the road, sweeping left, sweeping right..... and in the distance I spy a hi-viz "Butterfly Attractor Green" jacket. Having passed us a few minutes earlier while we were on the side of the road taking a break, I knew it was Tom because.... well.... who wears hi-viz on a 1947 AJS?

So anyway I know he's up there and we're riding.... we round a corner, getting ready to round another at a "Y" intersection, and as I approach I see Tom kicking... as I turn I see another kick.... I turn my head and see another kick.... damn! We can't just leave him there....

So I pull the parade over and as always, we help a brother out.... but for some reason, Bruce was gonna sit this one out.... not sure why.... not like he push started it earlier or anything....

So they push him down the dirt road....... didn't start.....

Then they push him up the paved road......... didn't start......

Then they pushed him down the way he came.......

And in about 100 feet she chugged to life one more time!

So at this point you'd probably think the story was over.....

Well let me tell ya something....

This dang bike..... you just knew it would be a headache all day long.....

So I get back to the start area and we're standing around talking and shooting the BS and one of the guys asked.... "Did you hear about Tom".....

"No, what happened...."

"Well they got back just a little while ago, loaded up and went home. His bike broke down. They had to tow it in about 20 miles."

"Damn. That poor AJS. I knew he shouldn't have brought it."

A look of puzzlement from the story teller.....

"No, no, Swampy. His brother broke down on the DR650 and he towed him all the way back with the AJS!"

.... and THAT my friends is a classic story!

Tom, I hate you.
You brought that ol AJS out and now you have me looking at old bikes (not as old as your AJS).
I've already spotted one on Ebay that ends tomorrow night.
I hope it gets bid up past my budget limit.
Bert

By the way....What the heck is Chad (orange shirt) doing in this picture.
Mental Telepathy Healing of the AJS?
