I ride when I should be spending time with my family. I ride when it's raining. I ride when it's too hot. When I'm not riding I'm working on my motorcycles or wasting time on motorcycle forums. I need to get in shape to ride better offroad so instead of a gym membership I bought a mountain bike. Now I can ride all the trails behind closed gates I've dreamed of riding on my motorcycles.
I was getting better not riding so much and actually working for a change but now reverting to my old habit. You see my buddy Swampy has come out with a new drug called SOS2012. I just am too weak to resit, my summer will be wasted chasing statues and monuments. My bank account will be drained buying gas, tires, oil, and parts to keep my poor bikes running to feed this consuming addiction.
Who else is ready to play?

I was googling all night about these two bikes.  I'm in the market for one.  The FE570 is going to cost me at least $2000 less than the KTM from the pricing that I've seen online ($8000 vs $10000).  If I'm wrong let me know.  It seems to me like the Husaberg is going to be slightly more powerful than the KTM, yet they are very close in weight and other specs.  I was originally all for buying the KTM until I rediscovered the Berg.  I have read that the Bergs are a little more difficult to work on yourself and KTMs are very simple.  I have ridden a 2012 KTM 500 EXC briefly and loved it.  I'm comparing it to my current 2002 KTM 640 LC4 which I will replace with one of these new machines.  I'm using it for dirt roads and single track.

Big problem for me is that I don't have any dealers closeby that have these bikes in stock.  I'm probably going to have to drive 4 hours one way just to get one or have it shipped.  Which brings me to another question about warranty work or just having it worked on in general...  Will living so far away from the dealer I bought it from be an issue?  I do have a KTM dealer in Tallahassee (1.5hrs), but will they service it (if needed) if I don't buy from them?

Please provide me with some insight, comparisons, links, etc...  Is the KTM worth the extra $$?  Should I not be comparing these?  Is the FE570 in a different class?

Probably Head out of Orlando early Friday afternoon in the cage and trailer to get us outta Flatistain under the cover of darkness and park it in Eufaula.  Ride Saturday and Sunday. Taking the Bandit with street tires so want to keep the gravel down to 50 or 75 miles or less.
Any suggestions on routes or places to see

I've been lurking for a while, and just joined.  I also visit ADVrider frequently.  I ride with John C. down in South Georgia.  I've been riding dirtbikes my whole life.  Just recently got into dual sports a couple years ago.  I have owned many bikes, but my favorite is my current 2002 KTM 640 LC4.  It's an awesome single track and dirt road bike.  I forsee the new 2012 KTM 500 EXC in my future though.  After riding one on a recent ride (Thanks Keith H.!), I have to have one.  He warned me that if I rode it I would want to sell everything to get one.  I even offered to trade him with no avail.  Well, just sold the 03 CBR600RR, so I'm halfway there.  Woot!!!! 

I plan to make some of the Dixie rides this year and look forward to meeting some new buds.
